Last night: I went to Saving Gigi to see the first night of Lake Forest’s (aka Will Whitwham of the Wilderness of Manitoba) CD release party. Saving Gigi is a really small venue, probably held about 30 people or so before it started feeling like a fire hazard.

I'm back
Didn’t end up staying for the last band not because I didn’t want to see them, but because I was too tired.
From what I did see though, I was most impressed by this band called Air Marshall Landing from Uxbridge, Ontario. They could quickly move from melancholy to upbeat at the drop of a hat.

I think “Into Thin Air” is his best known work? I’ve actually never read it but he is a great story-teller for sure!
We read the magazine piece (also called “Into Thin Air”) that eventually became the full-length book, which is where I got the “I’ll write an essay on Krakauer” idea...

I wish I was taking a literary journalism class…Into The Wild is one of my faves.
You’d probably really like the course. Lots of (mostly) great pieces of nonfiction. I’m excited to start reading all of this Krakauer stuff since Into the Wild seems so loved.

I slept over at a friend’s house and we had a huge bonfire and got to and from her house in her van which is way more awesome and affordable than a limo

I refuse to accept Flame Princess as a legitimate love interest for Finn at this point in time considering they’ve barely exchanged any words.
There’s still a small part of me that wants Finn and Marceline to end up together (they have more chemistry in my opinion…) but I’m interested in seeing how the whole Flame Princess/PB ship war goes.

So my midterm was okay
My professor made the test worth 15% and 30%, so I consider that my best Valentine’s Day gift. Oh and my mom got me a container of Ferrero Rochers which is also pretty sweet (literally and figuratively).
